Chief Operating Officer (COO)
As a member of the executive team the Chief Operating Officer (COO) directs the operations of Practice Dynamics Inc. in accordance with the mission and strategic objectives of LifeBridge Health. Candidates MUST have medical group AR management and revenue cycle knowledge including : Revenue Cycle leadership of a Medical Group Extensive experience with all aspects of medical group accounts receivable (AR) management Demonstrated successful accounts receivable management in revenue cycle leadership roles Advance knowledge of key performance indicators (KPIs) for revenue cycle outcomes Oversight of physician / professional billing strategy and operations
Responsibilities : Informs hospital Presidents VPs Directors and Department Chairs about operational legislative and regulatory issues and trends affecting health system financial performance and specifically physician net income. Actively participates in hospital Executive Team meetings. Models the behavior for customer service and takes initiative to ensure expectations are exceeded wherever possible. Extremely responsive approachable and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the institutions patients visitors and employees throughout the organization. Regularly makes rounds of facilities and departments to solicit feedback regarding performance needs and employee satisfaction. Proactively builds and maintains effective employee relations throughout the organization. Holds subordinates accountable for performance that meets organization's standards and needs. Mentors leaders around effective employee relations to ensure the highest levels of retention. Strives to recruit subordinates whose management style is consistent with health systems philosophy and culture. Addresses employee issues promptly by developing a course of action that complies with institutional policies. Plans organizes and coordinates all fiscal aspects of the institution management process. Coordinates the development of the annual operating and capital budget for PDI. Appraises present financial position and interprets operating results makes and implements recommendations that will result in cost reduction or increased profitability keeping outcomes within established budget. Manages the institution contracts for physician billing services. Monitors financial outcomes on a regular basis to ensure that budgets are met and encourages appropriate creativity to keep financial outcomes within the established budget. Leads the PDI team and co-leads with hospital executive staff the development and execution of revenue cycle programs and services. Directs staff in developing short- and long-term objectives for the most effective management of professional billing resources in accordance with LifeBridge's mission and strategic plan. Directs staff in the development of policies and procedures that are in compliance with state federal and local payor regulations and that promote the effectiveness and efficiency of the LifeBridge staff to offer excellent professional billing operations and processes. Ensures effective professional billing operations and processes. Selects develops evaluates and leads a team of PDI professionals with the goal of earning a high level of credibility as an effective and responsible professional billing group. Advises the faculty practice management in the development of revenue cycle programs and metrics goals and establishment of objectives to achieve expected practice performance levels. Ensures the effective operations of Practice Dynamics Inc. Establishes and maintains operational and financial standards including profitability accounts receivable and accounts payable. Establishes and maintains human resources standards including human resources policies employee benefits vacancy rates turnover rates salary structure and increases staffing patterns and job descriptions. Establishes and maintains property management standards including vendor contracts and pricing and appropriate care of facilities and equipment. Ensures a clean comfortable and safe environment is provided for employees and visitors. Establishes and maintains materials management standards including vendor contracts and pricing equipment and appropriate level / inventory of supplies. Seeks feedback about the performance and services provided by Practice Dynamics Inc. via surveys. Participates in strategic planning and provides strategic leadership for the organization's revenue cycle resources.
Qualifications and Requirements : 7+ years of relevant experience Master's degree preferred Experience in strategic leadership for medical billing operations / professional billing services
