Summary of Position :
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing manufacturing processes across all product lines produced at the California facility. This role focuses on improving operational efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness while supporting the production team in day-to-day operations. The position also involves occasional cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, and Quality departments to ensure seamless integration of new processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products manufactured at the California facility.
- Identify and execute opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and quality enhancements.
- Creates, reviews, and approves fixture and tool drawings for a variety of production projects.
- Diagnose and determine appropriate corrective action for problems with conditions of equipment, fixtures, tools, and processes that are used in assembly and secondary processes.
- Maintains accurate and current work instructions for production processes including pictures as necessary.
- Occasional supplier support functions with implementation and quality.
- Ability to document, communicate, and transfer knowledge of new processes and changes with internal customers.
- Provide problem solving and troubleshooting support to Production and Quality departments.
- Collaboration with Engineering department personnel to ensure design for manufacturability of new products.
- Complete special assignments as requested.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Bachelor degree in a mechanical or industrial engineering discipline.Preferred functional experience in industrial engineering.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.Proficiency in CAD software (Preferred Solidworks)Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawingsProficient in the use of mechanical inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, go / no go gages, and other mechanical inspection equipment.Ability to discuss technical problems encountered with immediate manager, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments.Must have experience with MS Office platform (Excel, Word, etc.)Personal Skills and Competencies :
Ability to prioritize workload.Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills.Strong communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.Customer Base :

Regularly required to : sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, reach above shoulder level, and lift up to 30 lbs. with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, feel or type and utilize a telephone, copier, printer, computer, calculator, mouse, keyboard and monitor to perform daily duties.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus and utilize a computer monitor under florescent lighting and / or daylight where applicable.
