Job Description

Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty : Post Operative Care, Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 4x9-hour shifts, 1200-2130 Mon-Fri, off every Thursday. No call.

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Required to submit

Certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS

Must-Have :

Experience traveling and caring for both children and adults
Experience from large hospitals with at least 2 years in PACU
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience with Epic

Job Description :

Unit consists of 31 beds covering both Phase I and Phase II recovery areas.

Recovery areas include children's recovery for inpatient and outpatient, and main recovery for adult inpatients and outpatient.

Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1 : 2 based on ASPAN standards.

Common cases include all surgical specialties, particularly total joints, neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, ENT, and others except open-heart surgeries.

Charge nurses are rarely required to take patient assignments.

CNA staff of 8 provides support with transport, mobility assessments, IV removal, and more.

Possibility to cover all three recovery areas in the same shift.

Minimal floating required, with a potential to float to Preoperative Care.

Scrub color : Blue scrubs supplied.

Scheduled orientation generally includes 3 days to cover all recovery areas.
