Apex Industrial Automation is looking for a new team member to join our ever-expanding organization (on-site located in Romeoville). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in industrial distribution / MRO sales and looking for mentorship to grow their sales career with the leader in the Chicago market.
The new role will go through our Customer and Product Training (CAPT), consisting of 9-12 months and after a year of training, this person will have the potential of being promoted to an Outside Account Manager role with a specific assigned territory of accounts in the greater Chicagoland area.

- Apex Sales Techniques / Lifecycle Training
- Entering and acknowledging customer orders
- Provide quick, comprehensive quotes to customer RFQ’s
- Processing, expediting and tracking purchase orders with suppliers
- Receive customer inquiries via phone, text, or e-mail
Long-term
Continuous training in sales, product knowledge, and servicesOutbound cold-calling new potential customers, contacting new sales through inbound lead follow-up, and responding to incoming inquiriesMeeting or exceeding quota and all KPIs, such as call volume, creating new contacts and opportunities, response time, and conversion rateAbility to qualify new potential customers for Apex products and servicesDaily interaction with Outside Sales and Customer Support staff to facilitate customer growthActively managing your open orders / quotes dashboardMaintaining and updating customer databases and tracking all sales activitiesProvide help to fellow team members in a courteous and professional mannerDemonstrate being confident and effective with your Sales / Product presentationsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications
Fluent in English (both written and verbal)2+ years of experience and / or a 2-year Associates or Technical degreeExposure to customer service, sales and / or purchasing (ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment) preferredProficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, CRM, and vendor pricing programsStrong email writing and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customersAbility to multitask and work in a team environmentTo be self-motivated and tenacious and to bounce back after hearing repeated "No" is mandatoryMust Embrace the following Core Values :
