Accounting Specialist

Pay range :   $25.00-$29.00 / hour     Schedule : Monday - Friday 8am-5pm

ServiceMaster of Tacoma is seeking bright, motivated, hardworking individuals to join our Accounting Team at our office in Tacoma.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Specialist to join our team. This position plays a key role in managing both Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be a part of a team with shared goals, working together to complete each day’s tasks including but not limited to :

• Process and manage AR and AP transactions , including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
• Verify and enter vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors / customers to resolve discrepancies.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• Education :  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience :  2+ years in AR / AP or general accounting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Concur, and Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
