Job Description

Program and Policy Specialist – JCPH

Make a difference in the health and wellbeing of Jackson County! As a Program and Policy Specialist, you’ll help design, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs, policies, and community initiatives that prevent disease and support healthier lives.

What You’ll Do :

Develop and support health education, policy, and systems-change initiatives

Partner with schools, businesses, and community organizations to address health priorities

Research and apply evidence-based strategies for disease prevention and behavior change

Create educational materials and use media to share health information

Support grant writing, reporting, and community health assessments

Build strong partnerships to improve population health and advance equity

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in public health, health promotion / education, or related field

1–2 years related experience

Knowledge of public health core functions, program planning, and health education

Strong research, communication, and presentation skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

Preferred :

Master’s degree in public health or related field

Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)

Experience with epidemiology, data analysis, and community organizing
