Position Summary
The Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs (AVPFA) provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all matters related to faculty across the institution. This includes faculty hiring, onboarding, development, performance reviews, promotion and tenure processes, policy implementation, and labor relations. The AVPFA ensures alignment with institutional goals, shared governance, accreditation standards, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications
A terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., Ed.D.) from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive experience in academic administration, with a strong understanding of faculty affairs. Demonstrated knowledge of higher education faculty systems, shared governance, and academic HR policies. Experience working with collective bargaining units and faculty unions. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage complex projects and facilitate collaborative decision-making. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with academic personnel systems and data reporting tools.
