Mechanical Assembler Position
Eagle Metalcraft located in Syracuse, NY is actively recruiting for experienced Mechanical Assemblers to join their team for 2nd Shift!
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical components and subassemblies according to specifications, blueprints, and work instructions. This role requires high attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing quality products safely and efficiently.
Pay Range : $17.00 - $21.00 / per hour DOE
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and work orders to determine assembly instructions.
- Assemble parts, tools, and equipment using hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, torque wrenches).
- Align and fit parts according to specified tolerances, ensuring proper function and appearance.
- Inspect components and finished assemblies for quality, functionality, and accuracy.
- Perform functional and performance testing of assemblies where required.
- Identify and report any part or process discrepancies to supervisors or quality control.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with company safety procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and recommend process enhancements.
- Record production data as required, including part numbers, serial numbers, and time tracking.
- Assist in training new assemblers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- May work in other areas of the shop depending on workflow.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical / vocational training a plus).Minimum 12 years of mechanical assembly or related manufacturing experience.Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.Proficient in using standard tools and measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges).Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.Basic computer skills for accessing work instructions and documenting tasks.Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, automotive, defense, or custom metal fabrication industries.Familiarity with lean manufacturing or ISO 9001 environments.Knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, or hydraulics.Forklift or crane certification (if applicable).Work Environment
Primarily performed in a manufacturing or shop environment.May be exposed to noise, heat, moving equipment, and occasionally hazardous materials (with proper PPE).Benefits Include :
