Patient Care Technician - Trainee

The Patient Care Technician Trainee (PCT Trainee) will be in training to learn how to provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The PCT Trainee will learn how to perform the hemodialysis treatment according to Satellite and the local center's policies and procedures. The care that will be taught will include taking and monitoring patient vital signs, performing blood tests, documenting appropriate patient information, preparing and monitoring dialysis equipment, and cleaning equipment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience : One (1) year of medical experience preferred Education : High School Diploma, G.E.D. certificate, or equivalent License / Certification : Current CPR certification BONENT / NNCC / NNCO certification is required within 18 months from the hire date. CDPH CHT certification (for CA locations only) is required within 18 months from the hire date What we're looking for High school graduate or equivalent Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients in need Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is a plus Other requirements Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, including demonstrated competency, within 8 weeks of hire. Successful completion of USRC training course in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within 8 weeks of hire. CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state. Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through a state certification program or national commercially available certification program within 18 months of hire date and maintained in good standing thereafter. Ability to distinguish all primary colors Must be comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol. Are you ready to make a difference?
