Histology Technician

Our client OSF HealthCare is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Histology Technician to join the team at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. The Histology Technician will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for microscopic examination, ensuring accuracy and quality in all laboratory procedures.

In doing so, performs high complexity and / or non-routine histology procedures requiring independent technical assessment of assay performance. Responsible for technical operation of specialized histological assays including training, education and continued quality improvement of the high complexity procedures.

The Histology Technician will lead and direct the optimization and validation of new laboratory equipment in accordance with applicable regulatory accrediting agencies and assist with the technical oversight and directing of routine histology procedures in order to ensure high quality, diagnostic throughput.This position requires attention to detail, technical expertise of the chemical rationale of the assays performed and the analytic skills required to remedy any technical difficulties encountered with high complexity histology assays.

Schedule Details :

• Regular Schedule : Starting at 7 : 00 AM
• Hours : Approximately 20 hours per week
• Weekends & Holidays : Rotating schedule (rarely required)
• Start Date : Mid-October (direct hire opportunity)
