This position will manage a variety of portfolio processes within the Facilities Division focused on building and operating UC San Diego Health’s (UCSDH) capital program and supporting deployment of the capital program across the enterprise. An ideal candidate has experience successfully applying traditional project management theories and concepts, a firm understanding of the business / healthcare environment, excellent communication at all levels of the organization, and ability to collaborate across various functions and UCSDH divisions to achieve project / organizational objectives.

Responsibilities :

  • Supports development of and maintains the UC San Diego Health’s capital project portfolio management capability. Aids in developing the capital program governance structure, processes and framework and aligning the capital project portfolio with project management processes across multiple delivery departments.
  • Assists in the development and integration of capital programs, plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals, such as sourcing strategy for commitment of work, cost imperatives, deployment analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinates closely with directors and program leaders to support customer and business objectives.
  • Participates in process improvement work for the identification, evaluation, prioritization, selection and fulfillment of capital projects.
  • Collects, organizes and provides data (measurement, tracking, reporting, reconciliation) according to established processes within the Facilities Division management system to maintain status of capital project requests, programs, customer and team commitments.
  • Performs other activities related to departmental duties as assigned or required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Nine (9) years of related experience, education / training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience / training.

Experience performing in a scheduling, industrial engineering, change management, strategy, business support services, program management, project management, or business operations role.

Experience implementing and managing strategic programs and projects, with phase gate planning and deployment and / or project life cycle management.

Experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment.

Experience in developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders.

Demonstrated superior analytical, problem-solving, project planning, and execution skills.

Highly skilled in navigating organizational complexity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Certification in change management methodology with demonstrated knowledge of change management principles and application.

Healthcare industry strategic planning and deployment experience.

Consulting experience in a relevant setting.

Experience leading system-wide improvement projects in a healthcare environment with process improvement work experience.

Knowledge of or ability to learn UC San Diego Health organization, structure, clinical, research, and administrative departments.

Functional experience in at least one other area of the business / manufacturing - such as engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, facilities, etc.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range : $101,200 - $192,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent : $48.47 - $92.05

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
