Job Summary :

The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will repair and maintain company vehicles and equipment in our container / port terminals.

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • None.

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Repairs and services golf carts, buses, mule trucks, forklifts, top loaders.
  • Maintains heavy equipment that includes hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical machinery.
  • Inspects equipment to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Troubleshoots issues or problems with vehicles and machinery as necessary to make repairs.
  • Maintains a clean and safe repair shop.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Required Skills / Abilities :

  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair ground support vehicles and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions.

    • Education and Experience :

  • Previous related experience preferred.
  • On-the-job training provided.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods working on vehicles and equipment.
  • Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on back.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
