Job Details

  • Travel OR RN Circulator position at Carlsbad Medical Center.
  • Start ASAP with a duration of 13 weeks.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring supplies, timeliness of cases, communication with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting physicians during surgical cases, and supervision of personnel delivering patient care.
  • The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning patient care in the operating room.
  • Works with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, ORTs, and other personnel to provide patient care according to State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, regulatory standards, physician orders, and hospital policies.

    • Job Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience required.
  • Experience with general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endo, and trauma required.
  • Adult and pediatric experience required.

    • Schedule Information

  • Shift : Days, 7a-3 : 30p, Monday-Friday, 5x8hr shifts.
  • Call required : 1 weekday per week minimum, weekend rotation.
  • On-call shifts Monday - Friday 1530-0700, Saturday and Sunday 0700-0700.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Operating Room unit with 6 operating rooms.
  • Involves working in surgical environment with various specialties including general, ortho, OBGYN, podiatry, plastics, endo, and trauma.

    • Additional Details

  • Facility size : 99 beds.
  • Number of beds in unit : 6 operating rooms.
  • Approximately 250 procedures per month.
  • Patient ratio = 1 : 148.
  • GHs is NOT approved.
