Position Summary : The CDL Service Operator is responsible for the transportation of materials to and from all job sites, delivering materials. This role will support the installation of proprietary secondary containment systems by operating machinery and tools to complete the installation project in a safe and timely manner.
Key Roles / Responsibilities :
- Inspect truck for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips and submit a written report on the condition of the truck at the end of each trip.
- Drive truck to and from designated destinations for up to 11 hours with and maximum of 14 hours total as DOT rules allow.
- Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather.
- Must be able to operate equipment in all types of weather and conditions. This includes going forward and backing up long distances, around corners and in and around very tight areas.
- Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment.
- Report highway safety hazards noted in route.
- Promptly report delays due to breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions or other emergencies.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver's record of duty status, mileage records and other records required by law.
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the safe operations of a commercial motor vehicle.
- Operate machinery to complete installation of containment systems including skid steers, augers, and other equipment as needed; always following safety protocol.
- Install, measure, and adject containment systems components such as posts, galvanized wall sections, and other perimeter support.
- Measure, mark, and place post locations including using basic mathematic formulas and reading measurement tools.
- Set post components using construction materials including concrete and dirt.
- Assist Technical Applicator with other tasks, as needed.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications :
Must have 3 years with CDL license.Must have experience with heavy haul.Two (2) or more years of experience in construction, landscaping, oil & gas, or similar industry.One (1) or more years of experience operating small and medium-size machinery.Familiarity with hand tools including rock bars, shovels, rakes, et cetera.Current CDL driver's license is highly preferred.Ability to read digital and manual measurement tools including measuring tape, level, and others.Ability to lift, push, and pull seventy-five to one hundred (75-100) pounds regularly.Ability to perform highly physical work for eight to twelve (8-12) hours without injury.Ability to learn and apply proper practices by following safe work practices, standard operating procedures, and best practices.High school diploma or GED required.Some overnight travel is expected for this role.Working Conditions :
Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab or pilot's cabin for long periods of time.Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.Long term physical fitness for duty to maintain all licenses and certifications of fitness as required by regulatory agencies and licensing entities (DMV, FAA, DOT, et cetera).Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Determine the distance between objects.React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.Benefits :
