About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) to lead its enterprise-wide HIPAA Privacy Compliance Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategy, development, implementation, and oversight of the program, ensuring adherence to the requirements set forth by various regulatory authorities. This role involves integrating privacy compliance into day-to-day operations, conducting data analytics, and leading the technology strategy for the program. The CPO will also be tasked with standardizing risk-based compliance reporting, monitoring program performance, and managing a team to ensure the effectiveness of the compliance efforts. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree, with a master's degree or Juris Doctorate preferred, and significant experience as a HIPAA / Privacy professional in a complex healthcare system. Experience in an academic medical center is highly valued. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in leading a compliance team, providing reports to executives, committees, and Board members, and a proven track record in developing and monitoring compliance-related policies, procedures, and standards. The CPO will also be responsible for the education, training, and communication of compliance initiatives to a diverse workforce and must be adept at partnering with Human Resources to ensure the enforcement of standards and disciplinary guidelines.
