job_description.job_card.job_descriptionGreet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time Set up treatment rooms for procedures Escort patients to treatment room Seat patients in treatment rooms Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol Ensure patients are always attended Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave Chart patients and record date, service rendered and any charges Escort patients from the treatment room Ensure proper treatment notes are recorded in patient’s chart Perform clinical procedures as practice act allows and as directed by dentist Give patient instruction and demonstrate when necessary Monitor patient flow Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations Keep trays, instruments and treatment room drawers organized ensure that office sterilization procedures document is on display Promptly send out and monitor all dental laboratory cases Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, unpacking supplies, completing insurance forms, moving former patient records, etc.) Be an active participant in team meetings Promote team concept by interacting with others in the office Minimum 2 year dental assistance experience required. Also open to hiring a recent RDA graduate. Must have a DA or RDA Certificate A familiarity with pediatric and orthodontic dentistry is preferred. Experience working with Dentrix software is a plus!. $20-$30 / hour

Job Duties :
Detailed Orthodontic Assistant Duties
- Assist the orthodontist with dental procedures, maintain excellent patient service, integrity, flow.
- Removing / replacing wires & bands
- Preparing patients for banding / de-banding
- Ability to take, develop and “mount” accurate, high quality radiographs / intra-oral photos / orthodontic photos.
- Taking dental molds / impressions / scans of patients’ teeth
- Clear Aligners (3M Clarity / Invisalign) scanning / bond attachments
- Clean, sterilize and prepare the equipment and operatory, prior to and after a patient’s appointment.
- Review patient chart, document appropriate patient information and health history during the exam and treatment
- Ensures all consent forms are completed prior to procedure
- Managing appropriate documentation for patient records- photos, notes, follow- up conversations, patient education.
- Track the incoming and outgoing lab cases, monitor and order supplies.
- Educate the patients on proper oral hygiene and address their questions and / or concern.
- Assist the business administrative team in scheduling patients
- Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new programs
- Communicate and work alongside dental staff to provide the patient with high level of care
