Analytical Chemist
Element has an opportunity for an Analytical Chemist to work in our Routine Chemistry laboratory and train in Investigative Chemistry techniques. The Chemist will assist the Chemistry team in ensuring timely completion of customer orders, and manage work in progress as it flows through the laboratory.

Salary : $30- $38 / hr DOE
Responsibilities
Perform chemical analysis using various techniques including ICP-OES, OES, XRF, EDS, LECO, and FTIR
Prepare and analyze metallic samples for alloy identification / verification
Perform cleanliness, chemical exposure, RoHS, and CPSIA testing
Analyze and document samples using optical and digital microscopes
Interpret data, review, and report chemistry results
Abide by all safety and housekeeping rules and regulations
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited university
Three to five years of related experience is desirable, preference to ICP-OES experience
Lab experience required
Previous experience with metals highly desired
Additional Responsibilities :
Assist senior chemists with tasks as needed
Prepare purchase orders and samples for sub-contracted testing
Assist sales team with routine quoting as needed
Perform equipment calibration and preventative maintenance
Manage and order lab supplies as needed
Aid in writing / revising test procedures affecting the chemistry lab, and coordinate revisions of test methods and standard operating procedures
Perform proficiency testing in qualified disciplines
Participate in personal training, cross training of employees, and continued learning of chemistry techniques
Be actively involved in assigned research and method development projects including, but not limited to equipment upgrades, new capabilities, and testing efficiency improvements
Perform all duties as required within an ISO 17025 quality system
