Sr Technical Writer Job at BSASPEC in Columbus

Looking for a gifted technical writer for project documentation around Corporate Planning and Budgeting as well as Regulatory applications. Need someone who is professional and comfortable talking to various hierarchical levels and has high collaboration skills. Expert knowledge in the documentation of Business Process Mapping would be helpful as well.

Responsible for providing IT Applications and business units with the highest quality documentation that supports the needs for SDLC and end-user documentation. Responsible for the quality of the content of documentation created by others. Performs editing of documents for spelling, grammar, and content accuracy and readability. Ensures that documents follow the style guide laid out in the organization. Develops and maintains standards for documentation styles and templates.

Prepares outline of contents and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents. Exceptional communication and relationship management skills. Communication skills must include advanced technical writing skills and the ability to simplify complex topics for lay audiences. Responsible for the preparation of resource estimates, evaluations, and recommendations.

Demonstrate advanced problem solving, troubleshooting, resolution, communication, and customer service skills. Clarifies direction; mentors and trains employees to perform their jobs effectively.

Principal Accountabilities : Understands complex IT and user requirements and able to translate into technical and end-user documentation.

Exhibits / applies advanced level proficiency in one or more large-scale assignments spanning multiple functional areas.

Exhibits expert level knowledge of one or more specific IT areas to enable the writer to serve as the highest skilled resource for the technical writers.

Promotes adherence to corporate standards, policies, enabling characteristics, and ethics.

Acts as a role model for self-development by visibly seeking feedback on own effectiveness and by learning new competencies. Stimulates enthusiasm in both individuals and groups.

Encourages decision making at the lowest appropriate level.

Advocates personnel development and cross-training and understands the importance of including these programs in the planning of assigned processes / projects.

Motivates the highest level of employee engagement.

Provides timely employee performance feedback.

Minimum Requirements : Nine or more years of related experience. A Bachelor Degree OR equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
