Schedule : 3x12s | Rotating Days / Evenings / Nights

Shift Coverage : Weekends, Holidays, On-Call, Callback, Charge per Unit Needs

Contract Length : 17 Weeks | 36 Hours / Week

Position Overview :

HumanEdge Health is seeking an experienced Psychiatric RN for a travel assignment in a high-acuity inpatient behavioral health unit in Rochester, NY . This position is ideal for RNs with a strong psychiatric nursing background, crisis intervention experience, and a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team providing care for individuals with acute mental health conditions in a safe, secure environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Conduct patient intake assessments, including interviews with patients and families

Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans

Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health professionals on treatment planning

Administer and monitor effects of psychotropic medications

Assist patients in understanding emotional disturbances and treatment goals

Maintain a safe environment and intervene in crisis situations as needed

Monitor and document vital signs , pain levels, medication reactions, and behavioral changes

Complete electronic documentation and follow physician orders

Provide respectful, high-quality service to patients and their families

Perform light administrative tasks such as answering phones and updating charts

Required Qualifications :

Active NYS RN License (must be in hand before start)

Minimum 2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience

CPI Certification (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Required

BLS Certification – American Heart Association ONLY

Experience with inpatient psych and behavioral health interventions required

Strong therapeutic communication and de-escalation skills
