Description

A long-standing, local Cabinet shop specializing in the design and fabrication of custom, high-end cabinetry for luxury homes and commercial spaces is currently seeking a motivated and reliable General Laborer to support our team of skilled cabinetmakers and ensure smooth day-to-day shop operations.

Job Summary

The General Laborer plays a key supporting role in our production shop. This position assists with material handling, shop organization, basic fabrication support, and equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and eager to learn the ins and outs of high-end cabinet production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist cabinetmakers with moving, staging, and assembling components
  • Load and unload materials (wood panels, hardware, etc.) and maintain inventory organization
  • Sanding, prepping, and cleaning wood components as needed
  • Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe by sweeping, emptying trash, and managing sawdust collection
  • Operate basic shop equipment (e.g., table saw, sander, drill press) under supervision
  • Assist with packing and loading finished products for delivery
  • Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in a woodworking or manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools (training provided)
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the trade

  • Forklift or pallet jack experience
  • Basic woodworking or carpentry knowledge
