Responsibilities
Job Summary :
The HVAC Helper will assist HVAC Technicians and Installers with the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in the skilled trades, offering hands-on experience and training in residential and light commercial HVAC systems across job sites in the Austin, Texas area.
Key Responsibilities :
Assist with the installation of HVAC ductwork, systems, and components under the supervision of a licensed HVAC technician.
Carry tools and materials to and from job sites, load and unload supplies, and prepare work areas.
Clean, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems and job sites for safe and efficient operation.
Support in measuring, cutting, and assembling ductwork using hand and power tools.
Learn and follow safety procedures and building codes.
Ensure tools are properly used, maintained, and returned to storage.
Drive company vehicles as needed (if authorized and licensed).
Communicate effectively with crew leads and supervisors to coordinate tasks.
Qualifications
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Prior experience in construction or HVAC is a plus but not required.
Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn a skilled trade.
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces.
Valid driver’s license (preferred).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Work Environment :
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Work may include attics, crawl spaces, and confined or dusty areas.
Noise level can be moderate to loud; PPE (personal protective equipment) is required.
