Commercial Lending Assistant

Position Summary :

The Commercial Lending Assistant supports the loan processing and administration functions within the Commercial Operations Department, assisting loan officers and other team members with various tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the lending operations department.This role involves preparing loan documents, contacting borrowers, managing loan files, and providing administrative support for commercial loan transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Assist with the initial review and processing of loan applications by gathering necessary documentation and verifying information.
• Collaborate closely with Loan Officers to collect missing details, address inquiries, and provide updates on application status.
• Support processing efforts based on departmental needs, including obtaining key information related to loan origination, such as preliminary title reports, customer identification verifications, UCC searches, insurance details, flood certificates, and other required items.

• Monitor cancelled insurance policies and ensure timely follow-up with relevant parties to maintain compliance and protect loan integrity.
• Assembles and maintains loan documentation files to ensure proper order and accuracy, verifying that all documents have been properly executed and recorded. Responsible for electronic filing and retaining original loan documentation.
• Ensures documents returned from loan closings are complete and accurate. Assists in clearing any post-closing documentation exceptions. Assisting with loan disbursements, including preparing cashier's checks, wire transfers, or other forms of payment.
• Acts as a liaison and maintains communication between the Loan Officer and all parties relevant to the loan (borrower, underwriting, appraisal, environmental, etc.). Promptly assembles and maintains loan documentation files to ensure proper order and accuracy, verifying all documents have been properly executed and recorded. Responsible for imaging and retaining original loan documentation
• Gathers background information on loan applicants, researching any discrepancies
• Serves as primary support for the Loan Officer, including but not limited to the preparation / composition of written correspondence and memos, as requested by the Commercial Lender. Prepares all documents needed for loan approvals and denials.
• Takes accountability to provide a best-in-class member experience.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education : High school diploma or equivalent is required; however, an Associate's degree or an equivalent mix of education and experience is preferred.
