Local Contract Nurse RN - Intermediate Care - $55-60 per hour

Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Intermediate Care Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 22 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Local Contract Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (IMCU RN) We are seeking an experienced IMCU RN to join our intermediate care team in a fast paced, high acuity hospital setting. The IMCU RN cares for patients who are more complex than typical Med Surg but do not require full Intensive Care, including stepdown cardiac, respiratory, and post operative patients. Responsibilities Perform focused assessments and continuous monitoring for intermediate acuity patients, including cardiac and respiratory status Manage telemetry, oxygen therapy, IV medications, and selected drips within IMCU scope Recognize early signs of deterioration and escalate care promptly to providers or higher level of care when needed Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions to support safe transitions Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic medical record Requirements Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or compact license Minimum two years of recent acute care RN experience, including at least one year in IMCU, Stepdown, Progressive Care, or similar setting Current BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association Proficiency with telemetry and intermediate level cardiac rhythm interpretation Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time management skills with comfort managing multiple intermediate acuity patients Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401K offered.
