Summary

  • This Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide care to young adult thru geriatric populations in a variety of settings to include IP Rehab, SNF and Acute Care (specific to elective total joints). Following physician orders, responsible to assess, develop, and implement treatment plans directed at a minimum to prevention, management of conditions and / or rehabilitation. OT’s assist patients in achieving their highest level of independence in activities of daily living. Treatments focus on education / instruction in the use of adaptive equipment, compensatory strategies, visual perception strategies, cognitive retraining, therapeutic exercise / activities to improve mobility and strength, relief of pain, and improve / prevent / restore impairments and limitations resulting from disease or injury. Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education module(s) assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Education Required : Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program Preferred : Masters or Doctorate from an accredited program of Occupational Therapy
  • Experience Required : At least 5 years' of related experience
  • Skills Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills and organizational skills required. Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and / or techniques
  • Licensure / Certification / Registration Required : License of Occupational Therapy active in the state of Missouri Required : BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire
