Application Developer Analyst

Position Description

Come work for a diverse and dynamic team where your aptitude and determination drive your career growth.  A successful candidate will join an application development team that specifically focuses on business systems supporting the Natural Gas, CO2, and Natural Gas Midstream divisions of Kinder Morgan.  As a team member, you will be working for one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. The Business Systems application team develops and supports many custom solutions for approximately 84,000 miles of natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, and carbon dioxide (CO2) pipelines and over 150 terminals for storing and handling various chemicals and other products.

On the Business Systems application team, you will develop custom software solutions, build relationships with key company users, and be afforded opportunities for taking responsibility and ownership of these solutions. A successful candidate will also engage in challenging assignments with opportunities for growth in their career.

Support existing DART applications and work on projects to develop new technical solutions, utilizing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Enhance, develop applications, and manage new projects primarily based on VB.NET and C#.NET technology to support the growing business in the DART area.

Interact with internal customers (business development, contract administration, accounting, scheduling, risk management) and external customers to analyze business needs, develop and implement solutions, train customers, and maintain the applications.

Work with other developers, create & manage project plans and estimates, and maintain documentation. The position will report directly to the Manager of Application Development.

Position Requirements

Education Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in IT, Information Systems, or a similar discipline is preferred.

Skill / Ability / Experience Requirements :

1-7 years of work experience using Microsoft technologies in an application development environment.

Experience in using SQL to write and maintain business solutions.

Proficiency with the .NET application model, specifically the presentation, business, and data access (SQL Server) layers and .NET framework environment (C# / VB. NET / ASP. NET / MVC), SQL server data management.

Familiarity with the Project life cycle, Design, Development, Testing, Migrations, and Implementations.

Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing.

Experience working on multiple assignments during the same time frame and juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision commensurate with grade level.

Uses time effectively and efficiently; a team player who values the input of others and strives to solve problems for the good of all.

Can represent own interests and yet be sensitive to others; is cooperative and encourages collaboration.

Experience in Crystal reporting, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS is a plus.

PowerBI experience and knowledge of CDC are a plus.

Having Liquids or Gas Industry experience is a plus.
