e are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Design Engineer to join our cross-functional engineering team. In this role, you will lead the full thermal design lifecycle—from initial concept through requirements definition, detailed design, simulation / analysis, manufacturing, testing, and qualification—for advanced products. You will collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to develop optimized thermal solutions for electronics and system-level applications. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to present complex engineering concepts to customers, upper management, and proposal review teams. Key Responsibilities Lead thermal design efforts for electronics / PCBA, box, and system-level products from concept through qualification. Perform detailed thermal analyses using both analytical and numerical methods. Develop and optimize designs for radiative, conductive, and convective heat transfer. Create and correlate thermal models with test results, including thermal chamber and TVAC data. Build thermal resistance networks and reduced-order thermal models for complex systems. Utilize simulation tools (ANSYS preferred or Thermal Desktop) and MCAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) for design and validation. Develop automated analysis tools using spreadsheets or scripts. Support manufacturing with expertise in thermal control systems and fixtures for lab environments. Prepare and deliver design review materials for internal stakeholders and customers. Contribute to technical proposals and documentation. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Thermal, or Aerospace Engineering (Master’s preferred). Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in thermal / mechanical design and analysis (Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of experience). Strong foundation in heat transfer principles and mechanical engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in professional simulation tools such as ANSYS (preferred) or Thermal Desktop. Proficiency in MCAD software, with SolidWorks preferred. Experience in manufacturing processes for thermal control systems. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an integrated engineering environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer and executive-level presentations
