Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.
The Role
We have an opening for a Mechanical Project Engineer in the Florida offices. In this role, you'll work with and learn from experienced senior engineers on a wide variety of projects. The position offers both in-office and field-based work, which may include extended travel. You'll be expected to :

This role is centered around the investigation, troubleshooting, and analysis of mechanical systems. You'll need a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles, along with a genuine interest in expanding your technical knowledge. Strong writing skills are essential as a key part of the job involves explaining complex findings in a clear, concise way to our clients.
Responsibilities
Work directly with a wide variety of clients, including attorneys, property owners, contractors, and insurance professionals on a wide range of investigations which may involve field investigations, property assessment and analysis, extent and scope of damage, cause of damage, building code analysis, construction defects, and professional standard of careAssist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations related to insurance claimsPerform required field surveys, calculations, design, and equipment selectionsPrepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specificationsComplete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentationsAssist with the organization and preparation of construction drawings and specificationsReview and research applicable building codes and engineering standardsManage projects independently and support more senior engineers in the MEP practice on projects as neededRequirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) Certification is desired.4+ years of relevant experience.Strong verbal and analytical skillsInterest in mechanical investigation / design of buildings and industrial systems, as well as interest in litigation support and insurance claims evaluationsProficient in both manual and software-assisted calculationsKnowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit / MicroStation a plusAbility to work collaboratively with other disciplines, meet deadlines and travel to work sites.Ability and willingness to travel for short durations for certain assignments.Benefits
