SUMMARY :

Adjunct Faculty refers to an educator hired to teach on a course-by-course basis throughout an academic year.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline. Instruction may be delivered on-campus off-campus or online and may be during the day and / or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.

Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.

Plan and create lectures in-class discussions and assignments.

Assess grades for students based on participation performance in class assignments and examinations.

Assist / mentor students as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education : Must have a terminal degree including a JD in a field of business or have a masters level degree and one or more earned actively maintained recognized industry credentials.

High demand credentials include a range of industry certifications and licenses including by not limited to CPA CFA CFE CFP CMA CIA a PMI credential Real Estate license Insurance license bar admission an ASCM Certification Six Sigma Certified Analytics Professional SCRUM Master etc.

Masters or higher in the teaching discipline or a masters in another field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline.

Experience : Must have some teaching or industry experience

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :

Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials.

Proficiency with LMS (e.g. D2L / Canvas / Blackboard) Zoom (or equivalent) and publisher platforms (e.g. Connect MyLab MindTap)

College or University teaching experience.

Evidence of teaching excellence.

Prior relevant industry experience.

Online or hybrid teaching experience.
