This SLP Samaritan Position is responsible to provide the following service lines :
Pediatric and Adult OP
Adult IP
Modified Barium Swallow Studies
Position covers both Samaritan Medical Center and Samaritan Rehabilitation Services OP Clinic
A Brief Overview
Organizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and / or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities / treatments to promote and / or maintain good health and communication.
What You Will Do
Organizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient’s rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.Educates patient / family / caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.Additional Responsibilities

Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.Qualifications
Education Qualifications
Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program. (Required)Experience Qualifications
Graduate Program Clinical Experience (Required)Skills and Abilities
Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills. (Required proficiency)Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment. (Required proficiency)Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental / chronological age of patients on their caseload. (Required proficiency)Licenses and Certifications
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio.
