Cates Control Systems in Plano, TX is looking to hire a Field Resource Technician . As a Field Resource Technician, you will have a pivotal role in solving our customers’ business problems using your technical expertise and great customer service skills. The Role :

  • Work closely and collaboratively with onsite electrical contractors.
  • Execute onsite wiring based on reviewed drawings and scope of work.
  • Clearly communicate with customer to obtain feedback, correct problems and address client issues.
  • Redline documentation to reflect as-built state.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure equipment / systems are working properly with the required level of compliance, quality, technical performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Installing sheet metal, VFD’s and mechanical assemblies.
  • Travel with little notice to anywhere within the continental United States.

Qualifications and Requirements :

  • Associate degree in electronic technology or related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting industrial electronics or performing engineering duties related to application and installation of automation equipment on machinery.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required
  • Up to 50-75% travel is required
  • Detail oriented, patient, and works well under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfaction
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical layout and schematics
  • Needs to have a good understanding of AC and DC Drives, Motion Control, PLC’s and HMI products as to how they are configured and programmed.
  • Mechanical and electrical install ability
  • Ability to use hand tools, drills, etc.
  • Knowledge of common wiring hand tools and multimeters.
  • Knowledge of OSHA
  • NEC / UL 508A
  • Frequently required to lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling of materials.

    Salary : $65,000 - $75,000

    Addition : On-site bonus and comp time
