Intern : UX / UI Design (Summer 2026)

About the role

As a UX / UI Design Intern, you will be an integral part of a dynamic global team, working closely with Project Managers, Designers, Developers, and leadership to craft engaging, user-centered digital experiences for the Volvo Group. You will contribute to the design and development of innovative marketing solutions and customer-facing platforms, fostering a creative environment that values inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your role will support the creation of intuitive interfaces, compelling visual elements, and seamless user journeys that enhance our digital presence.

You will collaborate with stakeholders from our eCommerce and digital teams to ensure the delivery of visually appealing and user-friendly solutions that align with business goals and brand standards.

This position will report to the System Analysis US Chapter, supporting Commercial Solutions NA for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America.

Who are you?

• Passionate about creating engaging and user-friendly digital experiences.
• Basic knowledge of Web Design, UI / UX principles, and visual design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch).
• Creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new design techniques.
• Empathetic and able to understand user needs and behaviors.
• Organized and able to communicate ideas clearly through sketches, wireframes, and presentations.
• Ownership-driven with a proactive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program related to Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a similar field at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies.
• Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
• Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week.
• Preferred candidate will have availability from May 2026 – August 2026.

Position Description

The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
