About your team / Ko te tīma Digital and Information Services guide WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru to make sound technology decisions, investing where appropriate, and leveraging common easy to use systems that are well connected, secure, managed, and standardised. We are committed to enabling WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru, using practical tools and appropriate systems, to harness the power of digital to support a healthy and safe workplace. We have recently invested in an Information Management uplift and are looking to build out our capability and tools in the Information Architecture space. About the role / Ō te tūranga We are looking to fill up to three Fixed term roles for 18 months in either : Front end - The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power Apps, Power Pages, Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Web development skills, and other Power Platform capabilities. Your primary focus will be working in an Agile team environment for our self-service portal (services.worksfafe.govt.nz) - a public facing online service that allows users to sign-up for an account, apply for permits, notify WorkSafe about incidents, and more. Because of this, previous experience with portal front-end design will be beneficial. Back end - Part of a product team that builds new features and helps support existing ones for an exciting new product that runs across WorkSafe built on a Dynamics 365 and PowerApps platform. The product, known as Atlas, is for internal WorkSafe staff such as Inspectors or permit administrators. It functions as a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) or Case Management tool. It also includes a public-facing self-service portal (services.worksfafe.govt.nz) where members of the public can submit information that feeds into Atlas. Both roles will work in an Agile delivery team alongside other roles such as developers, business analysts, designers, testers, release managers, and a product owner. What You'll Do / Ko tōu ake mahi Front end - Involves developing applications using Microsoft Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps), Dynamics 365, and Power Pages to meet business and user needs while streamlining processes. Working closely with business analysts, architects, stakeholders, and the Product Designer, the developer designs, tests, and deploys user-friendly, scalable, and efficient applications that integrate workflows and data. You'll maintain and support applications, troubleshoot technical issues, document development processes, and ensure code quality through reviews and unit testing. Back end – Responsible for developing and maintaining the back-end functionalities of Atlas, as well as mobile Power Platform applications. The role involves close collaboration with a front-end portal developer to ensure seamless integration between back-end systems and the public-facing portal, supporting functions such as applications, permits, notification forms, and public registers. You'll build new features across various regimes by creating plugins, APIs, Power Automate flows, and using TypeScript / JavaScript for form development, as well as reviewing code and implementing unit tests.   • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Dynamics 365, VSCode, C# and Visual Studio would be expected. Comprehensive knowledge of GitHub and Portal Development would be beneficial.
  • Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics CE, or .Net Qualifications or equivalent Microsoft developer qualifications or related course achievements would be beneficial. Note : KiwiSaver / SSRSS employer contribution is additional to / on top of your base salary.
