The Impact Youll Make in this Role
- Translate requirements of detailed part drawings, models, and job instructions into machining methods to accurately create finished parts.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment utilizing a wide range of controls.
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment, this includes engine lathes, manual mills, grinders, etc. (part test required).
- Set-up and operate precision testing, measuring, and inspection instruments.
- Communicate daily with supervisors, planners, leads, and other employees. Maintain a high standard of quality and work within 3Ms environmental, health, and safety standards.
Company Vehicle
This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications :
Possess a two (2) year technical degree, certificate or diploma (completed and verified prior to start), from an accredited institution AND three (3) years of machinist experience.A High School Diploma (completed and verified prior to start), from an accredited institution AND five (5) years of machinist experience.Must be able to work 2 : 30 pm to 12 : 30 am (M-Th)Possess a current and valid Drivers License.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include :
Familiar with small- and large-scale machine assembly and operation including the use of cranes, hoists, machine tools, presses, and alignment equipment.Experience with building fixtures, prototype, short-run, and job shop operations.Experience using one or more CAD / CAM software packages (i.e., Mastercam, Solid Works, Siemens NX).Experience with large horizontal milling, wire EDM, 5 axis machines, or prototype operations.Pay & Benefits
The starting rate of pay for this position is $45.17. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidates relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and / or experience.
