Unit Overview : Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, where you'll provide care to a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative care for craniotomies, bleeding evacuations, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Management of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of spinal surgery patients and medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , you'll engage with the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in collaboration with patients and their families.Recognize changes in patient condition and adapt care plans accordingly.Enhance patient safety by implementing risk reduction strategies.Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient and team outcomes, taking initiative when changes are necessary.Demonstrate effective communication and promote collaboration among the healthcare team.Foster a culture of safety in patient care.Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care experience.Engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to the growth of others.Apply knowledge of age-specific needs in patient care.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited Nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
