The Office of the Provost invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach CORE 101 Cultivating Wellness : Building Habits for Lifelong Well-Being in the APU Core, our general education program. This course equips students to cultivate sustainable wellness practices across eight key dimensions of wellness (spiritual, emotional, social, physical, academic, vocational, digital, and financial). Expert-led plenaries, small group discussions, classroom exercises, and engagement with campus resources foster reflection, goal setting, social support, and accountability in an empathetic and nonjudgmental environment. Each section of this 2-unit course meets for two hours per week.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to deliver instruction in the manner determined by the department. In addition, faculty responsibilities may include :

• Preparation of syllabus and teaching of curriculum according to the goals and objectives of the department.
• Student advising and on campus hours in relation to the course load carried, and as assigned in the faculty teaching assignment.
• Participation in faculty meetings and departmental activities as identified by the supervisor, department chair or program director, and assigned in the adjunct faculty contract.
• Determine student mastery of material and assign final course grades from evaluation of tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments and activities related to course material.
• Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scope of this position.
