General summary :

The Supervising Registered Nurse (RN) oversees the care of individuals and families supported by ESGWND. This role provides direct supervision, coaching, and mentorship to licensed nursing staff, ensuring the effective implementation of individualized care programs and services. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health outcomes and uphold ESGWND’s standards of care.

Key responsibilities :

• Develop and implement individualized Plans of Care in collaboration with external agencies and providers.
• Supervise and support RNs in delivering high-quality care and promoting health and wellness.
• Train nursing staff on ESGWND protocols and best practices.
• Educate professionals on safety, infection control, and employee health standards.
• Facilitate medical appointments, ensuring individuals and their support networks can attend, participate, and follow through on recommendations.
• Promote nutritional health by guiding individuals and staff in preparing balanced meals aligned with dietary orders.
• Advise on infection control and employee health and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a well-trained and cohesive care team.
• Provide direct care when necessary to supported individuals.
• Maintain regular communication with individuals, families, and team members.
• Identify medical needs and deliver hands-on training to staff on appropriate care and treatment.
• Apply principles from The Council on Quality and Leadership and adhere to ESGWND and North Dakota DHS protocols.
• Actively promote and uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of ESGWND—advancing Equality, Dignity, and Independence for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, walk and stand; talk both in person and by telephone; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close and distant focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels.
