OBJECTIVE AND POSITION SUMMARY
The Secondary Classroom Teacher position with CPLC Community Schools-Girls Leadership Academy of AZ (GLAAZ) will provide quality instruction pertinent to the applicable area, as well as provide extensive knowledge of cooperative learning strategies, differentiation, and small group instruction. The Secondary Classroom Teacher should have knowledge of developing formative and summative assessments to inform instruction, have the ability to incorporate research-proven teaching strategies into daily lesson delivery, and be familiar with the AZ State Standards and ACT Standards. This position will work with diverse populations. The ideal candidate must have the ability to maintain a positive attitude and build positive and appropriate relationships with students while also integrating reading, writing, and math standards into lessons.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
C urriculum Planning and DeliveryDeliver exceptional standards-based instruction in the assigned content area(s) and grade level(s) that ensures academic growth for ALL students. Content areas may include but not limited to mathematics, English Language Arts, Social studies, community based education, coding, journalism, psychology, art, health and nutrition, social emotional learning
Develop daily, and unit lesson plans that are thoughtful, goal-oriented, and aligned with the curriculum and the AZ State StandardsCommunicate regularly with parents and be available for Open Houses, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and other events involving parentsBe available to provide students with homework help before and after schoolDevelop and implement detailed plans that support student learning, in keeping with the school’s priorities and structures : (EX : Portfolio creation; Passage / Graduation Presentation preparation; internship support; wellness planning; student-led conference preparation; exhibition of student work preparation; culture building)Continuously collect student data and analyze to drive classroom instruction (formative and summative assessments)Collaborate with colleagues to create and implement interdisciplinary standard-based project learningIncorporate explicit literacy instruction (reading and writing) into content-area lesson plansIncorporate core curriculum and instructional practice into daily lessons and unitsClassroom ManagementDevelop appropriate positive relationships with students, including explicit recognition of their growth (e.g., positive calls home, positive notes, etc.)
Consistently implement the school-wide student management policies within classrooms and everywhere on campusAssessmentRegularly assess student mastery of key skills and concepts and use this data to differentiate instruction to meet student needs
Maintain accurate, thorough records of student achievement and behavioral performance and complete Progress Reports and Report Cards promptly and as scheduledParticipate in data analysis meetingsProfessional DevelopmentMaster the necessary content knowledge and skills to successfully teach assigned content area(s) and grade level(s)

Education / Background :
