Job Summary
This position is responsible for greeting and welcoming patients in person. Provides a standard registration process by collecting demographic and financial data and enter information into an electronic medical record.
Primary Responsibilities
- Greets and welcomes patients in person
- Collects demographic and insurance information
- Checks in and interviews patients to complete the registration process
- Obtains signatures from patients as needed
- Directs patient to their appointment or procedure
- May assist in scheduling add-on appointments
- Documents any issues and resolutions in electronic medical record
- Resolves claim issues and registration errors on patient accounts and in assigned work queues
- Uses resources, tools and procedures to complete registrations for complex accounts
- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers and interprets results, focusing on complex billing situations
- Obtains cost information and explains information to patients
- Collects on patient financial obligations
- Handles complex questions as needed
- Screening and approving patients for financial assistance programs and financial counsel as needed
- Provides technical or functional direction for employees
- Assist patients in completion of request for information forms and submits to appropriate department
- Provide customer service for inbound and outbound telephone calls
- Identifies and escalate trends to leadership related to daily site activities
- Participates in the orientation and training of employees and provides feedback to leadership
- Exhibits behaviors and expectations that are consistent with leadership roles
- Assists and supports team in all roles
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
2+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, food service, bank / office settings, call center, or other settings that engage with customers1+ years of revenue cycle experience in a healthcare / hospital setting (clinic / hospital registration, scheduling, prior authorization, insurance verification, medical billing and follow up, benefits eligibility, etc.)Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to work every other Saturday & Sunday from 10 : 00am - 6 : 30pmAbility to work come onsite for training within standard, daytime hours for first 3 weeks upon hireMust be 18 years of age or olderPreferred Qualifications

The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 to $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
