Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for an Automation & Controls Engineer to assist with our projects in the Midwest!
Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and implement HMI / SCADA and PLC-based control systems tailored to client requirements
- Lead full-cycle control system development : electrical design, PLC logic creation, HMI development, safety interlocks, testing, and onsite commissioning
- Develop and convert applications in Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Ignition and PlantPAx platforms
- Perform functional verification and validation testing to ensure design integrity and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and control system issues involving PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and wiring
- Provide on-site and remote technical support, end-user training, and system documentation
- Lead or contribute to the upgrade and modernization of legacy control systems, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations

PLC Programming : Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix), Automation Direct, SiemensHMI / SCADA Platforms : FactoryTalk View, Wonderware (Intouch)System Integration : VFDs, Machine Vision (Cognex, Keyence), Remote Monitoring via VPN, Instrumentation, Network DesignTools & Methodologies : Functional design specs, testing procedures, control panel design, safety standardsSoft Skills : Project management, client communication, problem-solving, team leadershipAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial automation and controlsProven experience in leading automation projects from concept to completionWillingness to travel 25% for system commissioning and client support as neededBenefits
