Audit Director

Job Title : Audit Director - Path to Partner

In office requirement : 3 days per week

Job Location : Shelton, CT & Hamden, CT

Base Salary : $180k - $250k

Requirements : 10+ Years of Public Accounting Experience (with a CPA firm) - Genealist Background preferred

We are a growing firm of about 50 employees who was founded in 2017. We are quicky growing into a regional feel with clients coming from national firms. We specialize in a number of industries including Construction, Healthcare, Technology, Non-Profit, Technology, Manufacturing / Distribution, Real Estate, Retail, Professional Services, and many more. We take a "hands-on" approach bringing a collaborative environment for all our employees and taking the steps necessary to really invest in our employees. We strive to give our employees the tools needed to become successful and advance within our firm. We currently have 5 locations around the southern Connecticut area, but we can also offer flexible remote options.

We currently have a partner who is ready to retire and she is looking for her replacement. This would be a position for a director seat that has potential to grow into a partner. You will be overseeing the audit team that is mainly working between our Shelton and Hamden offices, so you must be fine with spending time at both offices. It is a generalist role with mainly privately held for-profit clients. Although, there will be some work with NFP entities.

What You Need for this Position

At least 10+ years of :

Public Accounting Exp.

Active CPA

Financial Statement Audit Prep / Review for :

Privately Held Commercial entities

Non-Profit entities

Occasional Gov. Entity

Experience working directly with clients to consult audit needs and business growth

Experience building a team, budgeting hours, overseeing large teams of 10 or more associates

Expert in GAAP & GAAS standards

What You Will Be Doing

  • Preparing Financial Statement Audits
  • Reviewing Colleagues' Audit paperwork
  • Working directly with clients as main point of contact
  • Obtaining all necessary information and documents for audit
  • Helping uphold company policies and best practices
  • Overseeing and mentoring junior accountants
  • Growing firm audit practice and building / managing book of business.

Base Salary : $180,000 - $250,000

  • Work Weeks based on 37.5 hours schedule - anything over is OT (for true-up)
