Are you hungry to tell visual stories about equity? Mississippi has no shortage of opportunities, from the Mississippi Delta to the halls of the Mississippi State Capitol Building in Jackson.
Is a robust sports scene your calling? We have two SEC teams and an HBCU that has led the nation in attendance for years, sporting a world-renowned band. A local PGA Tour event, professional baseball and a beloved high school atmosphere await the right candidate. On the outdoors front, from alligators to bears, we have an abundance of critters to capture, visually, of course.The Clarion Ledger is looking for a world-class, full-time visual journalist who is skilled in video, photography and social media to join our digital-first news team. This photographer and videographer will capture the people, moments, events, environment and sense of place that define our unique community. A photographer and videographer must understand the powerful role that visual storytelling plays in reaching new audiences and be committed to high-quality journalism at every level. Our visual journalists must be able to move seamlessly between high school sports, daily local news, and deep investigations, community festivals, and national entertainment events. The successful candidate must have the ability to collaborate with reporters and editors to produce compelling storytelling about the people and places of Central Mississippi. We are committed to building audiences in underserved communities and expect our visual journalists to cultivate contacts and create content that reflects these communities.
