Full Time

The Quality Engineer will be an integral part of the Quality team collaborating deeply with Engineering and Operations departments to ensure compliance with industry and customer requirements. This role will focus on large-scale and technical programs, requiring expertise in GD&T, SPC, PPAP, and Measurement Strategy development. The Quality Engineer will support continual improvement, engage in root cause problem-solving, and play a key role in activities such as project reviews, inspection gage development, data analysis, and customer support.

Part / Project / Program Requirements :

  • Interpret requirements and provide relevant feedback to project management team on timeline, feasibility and costs related to project quality assurance activities.

Measurement Methods :

  • Evaluate and select appropriate measurement method (3D Scan, CMM, Hand Tools, Go / No-Go Gages, etc.) based on GD&T, customer requirements and project timeline.
  • Collaborate with Engineering team to optimize method for cost, throughput, and accuracy.
  • Review resulting initial data sets to substantiate compliance.

    • Gage Development and Optimization :

  • Lead collaboration between customer, program management and engineering teams to determine appropriate gaging method for high volume and / or technical programs.
  • Conduct Gage Reliability and Repeatability (GR&R) studies to validate gages.
  • Train quality personnel on proper gage usage and monitor / resolve any non-conformances which arise due to gage design or data entry.

    • Documentation and Compliance :

  • Lead all activities related to Production Part Approval Process documentation.
  • Support documentation of tooling control, drawing reviews, source inspection, and validation activities.

    • Research and Development :

  • Research new technologies and quality methods to improve efficiencies and reduce the cost of quality across the organization.

    • Continuous Improvement :

  • Support continuous improvement projects focusing on 5S and lean manufacturing principles across all technologies.

    • Customer Support :

  • Assist in customer calls, visits, audits, and root cause analyses when required.

    • Audits and Certifications :

  • Participate in internal audits to uphold ISO9001, AS9100, ITAR, and IATF16949 certifications.

    • Maintain a safe work environment.

    Promote a positive work environment.

    Other duties, tasks, and responsibilities that may be assigned at any time.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of quality management experience in a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing industry standards (ISO9001, AS9100) required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, & MS Word required.
  • Statistical process control experience required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred (or equivalent).
  • CMM programming and operating experience preferred.
  • 3D scanning experience preferred.

    • Job Type : Full-time

    Pay : $35.00 - $42.00 per hour

    Expected hours : 40 per week

    Schedule :
