We are partnering with a fast-growing healthcare management company in Hollywood, FL, to identify a Controller to oversee accounting operations and lead a small, dedicated team. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the CFO and company stakeholders, offering the opportunity to make an immediate impact and help shape the companys financial processes as it continues to expand.
Position Overview :
The Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting function, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial operations. This includes overseeing revenue recognition, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close while leading a team of accounting professionals. The role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to bring new ideas to improve financial processes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and supporting schedules for a private company under GAAP standards.
- Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations (bank, AR, and revenue)
- Verify and enter intercompany transactions and matching journal entries
- Manage invoicing, accruals, and revenue recognition processes (experience with ASC 606 is preferred but not required)
- Analyze financial data, and identify discrepancies
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports as needed
- Write off revenue where appropriate and handle cleanup of historical data
- Document and enhance SOPs for accounting processes and internal controls
- Collaborate with the CFO and company stakeholders on financial analysis and strategic initiatives
- Manage, mentor, and support a small accounting team (Staff Accountant and AP)
- Utilize Sage and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF) to streamline reporting
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance required.5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including revenue recognition and financial reportingExperience managing or mentoring a small accounting teamProficient in Sage and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions required)Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principlesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsHands-on, self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentCompensation & Benefits :
