DESCRIPTION
The Testing Specialist, under the supervision of the Manager and work direction of the Assistant Manager, performs the administrative services of the academic paper and computer-based Triton Testing Center (TTC). The Specialist provides program support for the TTC, including complicated scheduling and planning, assessment advice to instructors, data and test processing, and general customer service. The Specialist is responsible for executing testing operations, sometimes when the Manager and Assistant Manager are present, but often when they are not. The Specialist must handle minor to moderately complex testing and technical issues, often without assistance. The Specialist is responsible for the testing environment, conditions, security of tests, and delivering accommodations as indicated, and supervises the student staff when the Manager and Assistant Manager are not present.
The TTC is open 8 am - 8 pm Monday-Friday and several Saturdays throughout the quarter. Our hours are 8 am - 10 pm during Finals Week. Therefore, to ensure full coverage, Testing Specialists usually do not have the typical 8-4 : 30 schedule. Possibilities are 9-5 : 30 or 12-8 : 30 Monday-Friday and 10-6 on Saturdays. Working more than 40 hours / week may also be required during peak times, such as during finals week. The ability to take vacations may be limited when the academic quarters are in session.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (such as degree in Education, Student Services, Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences or related field preferred)
Self-directed, able to respond to changes of pace normal in a Testing Center, and committed to establishing and maintaining a collaborative and collegial environment
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Ability to uphold high standards of test security and integrity.
Experience with academic integrity and disability accommodations best practices and legal requirements.
Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of staff verbally and in writing.
Solid organizational skills and ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity despite frequent interruptions.
Working knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
Solid knowledge of best practice for proctoring
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
Duties may require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18); completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) training will be required. Must meet CANRA compliance requirements per California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act ("CANRA," Penal Code sections 11164-11174.4).
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range : $68,382 - $105,695 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent : $32.75 - $50.62
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
