GU Energy Labs is a family-owned market-leading global sports nutrition brand, and we are looking for an Experiential Marketing Manager to join our team! This is a full-time, hybrid role with weekly work from our Berkeley office required and an expected 60-70% travel.
About This Role
GU Energy Labs is seeking a dynamic, highly organized EventMarketing Managerto lead the planning and execution of our sponsored races, community activations, and experiential brand engagements. This person will be a key connector between our brand and the athlete communityresponsible for delivering memorable, authentic event experiences that bring GUs brand values and products to life.
This role requires cross-functional collaboration with internal marketing, sales, R&D, GU Gives and operations teams as well as external partners, athletes, and event organizers. Ideal candidates are relationship-builders with a passion for athletic movement and a deep understanding of what fuels performance on and off the course.

Key Responsibilities :
Event Planning & Execution
- Plan, manage, and execute GU-sponsored race activations, expos, and events, including logistics, staffing, product sampling, and athlete support.
- Lead run-of-show meetings and prepare attendees.
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and post-event recaps.
- Ensure GUs presence at events reflects our purpose, brand values, product benefits, and community connection.
- Build long-term relationships with grassroots organizations, run clubs, and race directors.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with internal marketing, creative, sales, R&D, and philanthropy teams to align event execution with campaign strategy and company objectives.Partner with operations and external teams to coordinate event shipments and product needs.Collaborate with the digital marketing team to capture and amplify events across GUs digital channels.Reporting & Analysis
Track and report KPIs related to event attendance, engagement, product sampling, and ROI.Provide insights and feedback to improve future activations, product needs, and athlete programs.We are excited about you because you have :
4+ years of relevant experience in managing, planning, and organizing live events.The ability to see the big picture, analyzing opportunities against a larger strategy and connecting event activation and brand experience tactics to the overall strategy for maximum impact.Logistical talent. Understanding lead times and managing deadlines, interdependencies of tasks during planning process and execution, distribution of effort when planning or executing multiple events simultaneously, sense of labor and time needed before, during, and after events.Creativity. You have fresh ideas for how to connect with consumers in the community and at races, tradeshows, and expos to drive engagement, encourage trial and conversion, and build loyalty.Project management experience, superb attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication. You know how to clearly communicate timelines and deliverables with key stakeholders and manage expectations toward success.Excellent relationship-building skills; emotional intelligence and grace under pressure.A passion for connecting with athletes of all kinds.Budget management experience, with an understanding of how to allocate resources effectively.Experience in the outdoor industry specifically trail or road running - preferred.Entrepreneurial grit, ability to react quickly and effectively to changes and make decisions on the fly.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Asana.Bachelors degree a plus, other experience happily considered.Additional Job Requirements :
Ability to drive a Sprinter Van, valid driver's license requiredAbility to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)Ability to frequently move objects up to 60 pounds in all directionsRequires working some nights, weekends, and holidays due to event schedules
