The Center for Biomedical Research Support (CBRS) is a collection of 10 service centers that operates under the Vice President for Research, Scholarship and Creative Endeavors (OVPR) and broadly supports the research community on campus and externally. CBRS serves a central role across all of campus to provide access to cutting-edge technology, expert advice, and centralized services. CBRS is comprised of core facilities including Biomedical Imaging, Bioinformatics, Biological Mass Spectrometry, Biomedical Research Computing, Cryo-EM imaging, Genome Sequencing, Microscopy / Flow Cytometry and Mouse Genetic Engineering. In addition, CBRS provides laboratory support in the forms of stockrooms, electronics repair, and external services drop boxes.

Purpose
The Genomic Sequencing and Analysis Facility is a full-service sequencing core offering services to researchers on campus ranging from genomics, spatial transcriptomics, and methylation array services. The selected scientist will be responsible for planning and executing complex bench experiments and assisting researchers with single cell and spatial sample preparation to ensure successful projects.
Responsibilities
Execute simple and complex protocols related to Next Generation Sequencing protocols without error according to manufacturer or other published instructions. Provide detailed documentation of work performed. Ability to troubleshoot complex problems when they arise.
Provide customer support by assisting with sample guidelines regarding quality and quantity. Assist customers with single cell and nuclei isolations for single cell / nuclei RNA-Seq. Assist researchers with tissue sample preparation for spatial transcriptomic work.
Skillfully operate and maintain a wide range of equipment used for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Management of operating manuals, reagents, and consumables.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree and two years of related experience, or bachelor's degree and four years of related experience.
Experience isolating and processing cells and / or nuclei for RNA-Seq
Tissue sectioning experience
Preferred Qualifications
Single cell or spatial transcriptomic data analysis
Microscopy experience
Next Generation Sequencer set up
Salary Range
65,000 + depending on qualifications
