We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) Plus Credentialing Project . This role involves planning, budgeting, oversight, and documentation of all aspects of the project to ensure successful integration of the credentialing process into the PEMS system. The Project Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and governance committees to streamline provider enrollment and credentialing, supporting Medicaid and CHIP Services.
The position requires a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with proven experience managing large-scale IT projects, particularly within Medicaid Enterprise Systems . The role offers considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment while working under limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the PEMS Plus Credentialing Project to integrate credentialing into the PEMS application.
- Coordinate duties and responsibilities with PEMS Sprint Teams and Provider Services.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project timelines , ensuring alignment with PEMS schedules.
- Track tasks, schedules, and deliverables while keeping stakeholders informed.
- Oversee and report on critical path dependencies between projects.
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to management, vendors, Provider Services, and sprint teams; develop mitigation plans when needed.
- Plan and facilitate efficient project meetings, documenting key decisions.
- Design strategies to mitigate or avoid identified project risks.
- Work closely with leadership, including Directors and Deputy Associate Commissioners, to ensure goals are met.
- Deliver quality products that meet operational and technical requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience managing large-scale IT projects, including system integration, resource management, procurement transition, and vendor management.7+ years of experience with Medicaid Enterprise Systems, including Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) .7+ years of experience with Medicaid business operations.Strong background in identifying problems, evaluating alternatives, and implementing solutions.Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage critical path dependencies across multiple projects.Experience leading meetings and facilitating discussions with vendors and stakeholder groups.Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).Excellent oral and written communication skills.Project Management certification (PMP) by a recognized organization.Ability to work successfully with both technical and non-technical groups, managing multiple responsibilities.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills with creativity and initiative.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Texas Medicaid programs .Experience with provider enrollment systems .Scrum Master certification .
