Payroll Administrator –| Walnut, CA

Temporary to Hire : Hybrid after completion of temporary to hire period (3 days in office, 2 days remote)

Pay : $35-$38 an hour

Position Overview

As the Payroll Administrator, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and bi-weekly cycles. You’ll ensure accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with payroll tax regulations. This role also serves as a key liaison between payroll and various departments.

Key Responsibilities :

Process weekly and bi-weekly payrolls, including commissions and bonuses

Calculate hours worked, overtime, gross pay, deductions, and withholdings

Manage direct deposit setups and ACH submissions

Maintain PTO records and process wage garnishments

Prepare payroll reports and distribute checks

Post and correct journal entries in the General Ledger

Reconcile payroll taxes and ensure accurate GL deposits

Conduct W-2 reviews and year-end balancing

Collaborate with division personnel to resolve payroll issues

Qualifications

5–6 years of payroll experience (in-house processing preferred)

Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, California labor laws, and union requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; JDE experience preferred

Familiarity with garnishment processing and timekeeping systems (e.g., e-Time, Kronos)

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines under pressure
