About the Role

The esteemed school of medicine is on the lookout for a dynamic Head of Otolaryngology to spearhead and enhance our department. This pivotal role focuses on the core mission areas of education, research, and a significant community health impact. The ideal candidate will be an esteemed physician leader in the realm of academic medicine, with a robust background in Otolaryngology and a demonstrated history of impactful contributions to the field.

In this influential leadership position, you will oversee the department’s strategic and operational activities, champion the advancement of patient-centered care, and cultivate a vibrant culture of scholarly activity and clinical research. Your responsibilities will include attracting and retaining top-tier faculty and trainees, as well as elevating the department’s academic reputation nationally and regionally.

To be considered for this role, you must be an exceptional clinician paired with respected academic leadership, capable of developing competitive programs while fostering a culture of accountability. An MD or MD / PhD is essential, alongside board certification in Otolaryngology and ongoing engagement in clinical practice. Additionally, an advanced degree in healthcare or business is preferred, with eligibility for academic appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level.

Key responsibilities include operational leadership aimed at expanding integrated patient-centered Clinical Programs, proactively strategizing to enhance access and quality of care, and motivating faculty to progress in their careers. This role requires a leader adept at collaborating with multiple partners and stakeholders, fully committed to the department’s mission and the health of the communities we serve.
