SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison Worker Type : On-Demand Schedule : PRN | Day Shift Location : Madison, WI About the Position : As an Occupational Therapist with us, you will have the opportunity to evaluate and provide compassionate care to patients experiencing physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges. You will play a vital role in helping them regain their independence and improve their quality of life. Your Responsibilities Will Include : Conducting thorough assessments of patients' abilities to perform daily living activities independently. Designing customized plans of care that outline the type and frequency of treatment needed. Implementing treatment plans using a variety of therapeutic modalities and documenting patient progress accurately. Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding therapeutic strategies and the use of adaptive equipment. Overseeing care provided by support staff in compliance with established regulations and standards. Maintaining a safe and alert working environment. Performing additional duties as required. Education : A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, as required for state licensure. Experience : No prior experience is necessary; we welcome new graduates! Physical Requirements : Standing for extended periods. Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling of objects up to 25 lbs. Strong communication skills, requiring frequent use of hearing and speech. Visual abilities for both near and far distances. Frequent walking, reaching, and keyboard use. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, and lifting / carrying up to 50 lbs. Ability to occasionally move patients safely. Basic driving may be necessary. Licenses / Certifications Required : Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification within 90 days of employment. State licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Wisconsin or the applicable state of practice.
